DIOPTIC contributes to the challenges of lidar manufacturing and development across the whole development and supply chain: our professional expertise ranges from the conceptual design and optical design of new systems, alignment systems for manufacturing, inspection systems for individual components to end-of-line inspections. Our experts are developing beam forming optics and fast lenses with a large field of view matching - exactly the costumers need.

Lidar component and system testing

The quality of lidar systems is the key issue for the successful launch into mass production. The product quality is composed of numerous elements:

  • The sensor design significantly influences the susceptibility to manufacturing tolerances.
  • Each single component must meet the given specifications.
  • A precise alignment of the individual parts must be guaranteed during sensor assembly.
  • The end of line test ensures that only those systems satisfying the strict requirements are released to market.
  • DIOPTIC develops inspection and alignment systems for the latest generation of lidar sensors. Our systems guarantee a high inspection reliability, a large production yield and product quality enabling the manufacturing of highly reliable sensor systems. Autonomous cars with appropriate environment sensor systems will pave the way for more driving comfort and more safety in public transport.

Sensor assembly

The manufacturing of sensors generally requires a controlled alignment of individual optical components with respect to each other. Thanks to our fundamental understanding of the underlying systems we implement assembly systems with optimal cooperation of sensor technology and actuating elements for automated assembling.

Our products

WAVOS cover

WAVOS cover is designed to test the transmitted deflection field. The measurement tells you the laterally resolved amount of angle change caused by an optical component. The target application is the qualification of lidar protection windows. The deflection angle is the directly relevant value performance for the lidar sensor. A single measurement includes effects of surface shape and variation of refractive index.

ARGOS

ARGOS is our solution for an automated scratch-dig inspection according to ISO 10110-7. Compared to the classical manual-visual inspection our tests are objective, reproducible and fast. In order to cover the very different requirement profiles of different optical areas, we have developed a whole family of devices.

DIOPTIC Lenses

DIOPTIC develops and manufactures lenses for industrial applications with highest quality standards. In addition to telecentric lenses and infrared lenses, we develop customized solutions for our clients. We manufacture prototypes and small series in house and are long-term suppliers to our customers with high quality standards.

CGH asphere tests

Based on computer generated holograms (CGHs) a tested diffractive-optical lithographic surface structure by DIOPTIC creates the most exact wavefronts in space for the purpose of inspecting your optical surface. Our diffractive optics are reference inspection lenses for the metrology of aspheres, spheres, cylinders and free-form surfaces. With our patented DFNL measuring lenses (Diffractive Fizeau Null Lenses), we offer a consistently highly precise and user-friendly solution.
